BIG
WOODROW'S was constructed in 1993 and billed as Texas’
Largest Icehouse. During the Houston Rockets NBA Championship years of
1994 and 1995, and the Astros championship run in 2005, BIG WOODROW'S became known throughout
the Houston area for its sportsbar theme and huge outdoor deck. It was
clearly the preferred viewing location for those playoff games as hundreds
of fans turned out for each game filling up not only the available seating
indoors and on the front deck, but also parking lot as well!
BIG WOODROW’S currently bills itself as
a Texas Sized Sportsbar with a lot of Cajun Spice! It offers a complete food menu highlighting
Cajun food items, which provides a smooth transition since our affiliate restaurant is an award-winning Cajun restaurant in Houston, Mardi Gras Grill at 1200
Durham Drive (voted Best Cajun Restaurant by readers of The Houston Press). Woodrow's is presented
in a two-story wood framed building (over 5000 sq. ft.) that seats over
250, seating at the upstairs and downstairs bar areas. Additionally,
four roll-up garage type doors open to exterior seating available either
on the covered climate controled front deck (seats about 100) or the adjoining open deck
(seats about 80). Obviously the deck space is the first to fill up on
pretty days, so call early and reserve space for your group! Especially
during crawfish season when we’re serving our award winning Boiled
Crawfish! Laissez les bon temps rouler! Cajun for, "Let the Good Times Roll!"
Included within BIG WOODROW'S is our second
floor private party room, THE LOFT, which seats groups of
approximately 150 people. Large windows surrounding this room can be opened
on those nice days, or for throwing beads during Mardi Gras! The room
has central air and heat for those days when climate control is preferred.
The Loft comes complete with its own huge bar loaded with liquors, wines,
and beers from around the world, as well as other beverages. THE
LOFT accommodates business meetings and offers a cordless
microphone heard over its sound system for those business presentations
before the social hour.
BIG WOODROW'S can accommodate every type
of event. We have even converted our front parking lot into a huge crawfish
festival area for corporations that entertain in excess of 500 people. For
these events, a large flatbed trailer provides a stage for the bands
and huge temporary tents are installed for the guests. Big Woodrow’s
can host events both large and small!
